This attractive, 17th-century, flint holiday cottage is set in the oldest part of this picturesque fishing port, about 1 mile from a pine-fringed sandy beach. It is comfortable and spacious with pretty period furnishings. Table tennis and painting facilities are in the adjoining barn. A large, well-equipped beach hut and four bikes are available by arrangement. A wealth of local activities include cycling, sailing, sailboarding, bird-watching and boat trips to the seal colonies. Within walking distance are shops, inns and restaurants. Burnham Market 5 miles. Holkham Hall and fabulous beach 2 miles. Living room. Large beamed dining-room. Fitted kitchen. Shower room/W.C. Laundry room. First floor: Double bedroom. Twin-bedded room. Second twin-bedded room with 2ft 6in beds. All bedrooms have rugs on wooden floors. Bathroom/W.C. The popular seaside village of Wells-next-the-Sea is just a mile from the beach, during the summer months a train runs the length of the beach road to save you taking your car. With its brightly painted beach-huts, colour-washed houses and Victorian shop fronts, Wells is become a really popular destination to visit. Wells-next-the-Sea is popular with those who enjoy sailing and water-skiing as well as those who love walking and bird-watching. There are plenty of activities for children including pitch and putt, fishing for crabs on the quayside and playing in the penny arcades. Staithe Street is the main shopping street with several quaint shops selling craft items, antiques and clothing and there are some nice teashops. Boat trips are available to see the seals and leave from the harbour. On the harbour you can also buy crabs, mussels and fish and chips. Excellent restaurants serving fresh local produce and no less than 6 public houses are located in this coastal village. Highly recommended for a holiday by the seaside. |
