Albufeira has it all, the lively and social nightlife, the beautiful beaches, varied water sports, golf courses, glorious countryside and the local cuisine. Albufeira is the gateway to the Algarve and is a mix of old and new.  Albufeira Old Town is a maze of cobbled streets with a lovely feel, with the houses all white washed looking over the sea. Albufeira has a new part of town, known as Clube Albufeira Resort and blends neatly with the old part of town. In 1755 most of the old town was destroyed but even now there are parts of this historic town that you may find quite interesting while on your holiday here. There are over 20 beaches along the Albufeira coastline making this the ideal beach holiday resort and one that many visit year after year.

Albufeira Resort Information

Albufeira Old Town is a haven for traditional Portuguese restaurants serving some of the best fresh fish dishes (grilled sardines are a speciality here) and a wide selection of Portuguese cuisine. Alongside a host of bars and cafe's serving drinks into the early hours. If you are looking for a more lively part of town "The Strip" as it is known, is situated on the new beach side of Albufeira and is home to the nightclubs and bars. Away from the beach from the beach in Albufeira you find the Golf Resorts with superbly maintained golf courses, a selection of swimming pools, leisure facilities including gyms and Jacuzzis and of course all within a short distance of the beautiful beaches.

Clube Albufeira Resort is an impressive complex with all the villas and apartments being located very close to one of the three communal swimming pools on the complex. Clube Albufeira has a selection of 3 large swimming pools, pool bar and fabulous restaurant, which offers snacks and a full ‘A la Carte’ menu including Sunday lunch and weekly BBQ which is open all year round. Free car parking. Clube Albufeira is just 2 km away from Fisherman's beach where you will find a variety of fine restaurants, Shops, bars cafes and plenty of amusement for children. There is a free shuttle bus service, which runs regularly to and from the centre of Albufeira.

Gale boasts a long sandy beach, stretching almost as far as Armacao de Pera, edged with a back drop of ragged cliffs. Plenty of shops bars and restaurants can be found dotted around the resort while a short drive will take you to the centre of Albufeira. This is the perfect choice for a relaxing holiday with local amenities close at hand.

Guia is a quaint, small village situated just a ten minute drive from Albufeira. Guia is a lively village with a thriving villa population which includes Sir Cliff Richard's villa and vineyard. Nearby is the Zoomarine theme park with lots of attractions especially for the children including the opportunity to swim with the dolphins. The Algarve shopping centre is only a 5 minute drive away with its extensive range of boutiques and shops and the large Continental hypermarket which is well known for its fish counter. Guia has numerous bars and restaurants to suit all tastes and pockets.

There are over 20 beaches along the Albufeira coastline. The beach in town is the Praia do Penico but there are other fine beaches within easy reach: to the east of the town centre is Praia dos Pescadores (Fishermen's Beach) about half a kilometre away, Praia d'Oura about 3km, Praia da Falésia 10km and Balaia and Olhos d'Agua slightly nearer to town. All of these beaches can be easily reached by local bus. To the west of Albufeira are some beaches located in coves such as the jet-ski and water-skiing centre of Praia da Galé.
