Calonge is an inland
village a few Kilometres from Costa Brava coastline. Calonge has
medieval old centre with narrow streets. It has many remarkable old
buildings. The old maritime part, Sant Antoni de Calonge, has developed
considerably through tourism along the beach which continues as far as
Palamos. There are several restaurants and bars in this quiet place
which is a traditional Catalan town. A labyrinth of streets surrounds
the old church with a couple of small shops and a few restaurants.
Calonge is 25km from Girona and 8km from La Bisbal. Calonge is a typical
Costa Brava tourist town. The main attraction for visitors on holiday in
San Antoni de Calonge is of course the beach. At the beach you will be
able to take part in a range of water sports and beach activities, from
windsurfing to pedal boat hire. A pretty promenade runs along the beach
front where you will find various shops, stalls, bars and restaurants
catering for your holiday needs.
