When you take a villa or apartment holiday in the Costa Blanca, you can expect to find sparkling turquoise waters, miles of white sandy beaches, fiery fiestas and sizzling nightlife. Visitors adore the ease of its home comforts and family-friendly amenities, while many more are seduced by unexplored valleys, pretty hilltop hamlets and unspoilt fishing villages. Year-round sunshine makes the Costa Blanca an ideal choice for every type of villa or apartment vacation - whether you seek peace and relaxation; fun and recreation, or a perfect balance between the two. The Costa Blanca’s main attraction is its stunning coastline, which is lined with Blue Flag beaches famed for cleanliness, pure waters and pristine white sands. From well-known sands to secluded coves and rocky bays, there’s a wealth of Costa Blanca shoreline to choose from – some perfect for swimming and waterskiing, others for windsurfing, snorkelling and hiring pedaloes. Numerous other beaches, mainly golden sand, can be found in the surrounding area. Local facilities cater superbly for every visitor, whether families or couples. Those looking for sightseeing, sporting or tourist activities will be spoilt for choice here in one of Spain’s most popular leisure-filled regions. You can pick from theme parks and nature reserves, enchanting caves and waterfalls. Costa Blanca golf courses [also link to Golfers’ page] and watersports fill the coastline, along with a wide range of excursions – making it an ideal destination for a family holiday. Explore inland villages, vineyards and fragrant citrus groves, or visit the historical churches dotted throughout the region. Travelling between the Costa Blanca’s resorts and towns is easy: Good road networks make car journeys stress-free, and buses are both frequent and inexpensive. In the far south is the popular area of Orihuela Costa, with its wonderful coastal resorts including Cabo Roig, Playa Flamenca, Punta Prima, Torrevieja & Guardamar del Segura. This area of the region is just 20 minutes from Murcia Airport, and a fantastic location for a cheap holiday rental in the sun. Ryanair operates cheap flights from Stansted and other regional airports, and the rental properties in this part of the Costa Blanca are extremely good value, especially the beachfront resorts. In the North of the region are the popular resorts of Marina Baja including Benidorm, Marina Alta including Javea and the capital of the Costa Blanca Alicante with its main airport. These resorts are extremely popular due to the close distance to the main airport at Alicante with numerous cheap weekly flights from all over Europe. As well as its beautiful sandy beaches, the North Costa Blanca has a fantastic mountainous backdrop providing shelter from the cold winds, adding to its attraction especially as a winter holiday destination. Weather in the Costa Blanca High season in Costa Blanca is June to September. However the climate is temperate, With a winter average temperature of around 15ºC, the Costa Blanca is probably one of the perfect places to holiday on the Mediterranean coast. Golf in the Costa Blanca Costa Blanca boasts well over 10 golf courses, including three of the most popular championship courses in the region: Villamartin, Las Ramblas and Campoamor. One of the newest additions to the list of courses is the La Finca in Algorfa, just outside the historic town of Orihuela. This new golf course has many features and currently has 18 holes although it will finish being a 54 hole complex made up of 3 different golf courses. So if you are looking to play a game or just look out on to some of the breathtaking scenery of a well maintained and designed golf courses, there is no better place than the Costa Blanca. Beaches in the Costa Blanca Costa Blanca Beaches are one of the most famous tourist areas right on the Mediterranean sea. The white coast is also famous for its well looked after sandy beaches, many beaches carry the Blue Flag for clean waters and well maintained beaches. Denia has almost twenty kilometres of coastline. To the north of the town, there are beaches of fine sand and shallow waters. To the south lie a series of small coves along the rocky coast, known as Les Rotes, which is a paradise for fishermen and divers. The town sits at the foot of a hill. The Arenal beach area is the commercial and tourist part of Javea .The beautiful, sandy bay is planted with palm trees and has play areas for children. The bay is fringed by the promenade with its wonderful choice of bars and restaurants offering national and international specialities. Benidorm's beaches and many leisure facilities has made it the Costa Blanca's main tourist area. It boasts some of the best beaches in Europe, with 3 miles of fine sand which is cleaned daily, the quality of the services and activities. Benidorm is considered the true capital from the Costa Blanca. It's best to start exploring Alicante on the beachfront, along the city's main pedestrian walkway, the Expanada de Espana. Spread out in front of the main part of the city, this elegant boulevard, stretching around the harbour, is shaded with palm trees and lined with shops and cafes. With small, rocky coves and wide, urban, fine sandy beaches, Calpe has a wide variety of attractive coastline where transparent waters are the order of the day. Its beautiful, peaceful coves include Les Bassetes, a natural shelter that provides perfect conditions for learning to sail. One of the smaller & quieter beaches on the coast, Playa Flamenca has been granted a blue flag by the EC. It is an ideal spot for families and has easy access including parking and bus stop. Set within a cove, Cabo Roig beach is ideal for a relaxing day sunbathing. There are beautiful views of the Marina and the famous historic watch tower. Suitable for people of all ages with plenty to do including wind surfing and water skiing. A very popular beach with both tourists and residents alike. La Zenia beach is renowned for its cleanliness and white sand. There are plenty of amenities available at your disposal including restaurants, beach bars & water sports. One of the longest and most spacious beaches in the area. Campoamor boasts a beautiful harbour which provides ideal services for water sports such as sailing and surfing. Take a walk along the boulevard or enjoy a meal in the restaurant, which comes highly recommended. Torrevieja boasts many long and beautiful beaches; however La Mata is probably the most popular. Excellent for water sport enthusiasts, you can practice windsurfing, sailing, watercycles and water motorcycles. A short walk from the bustling town of Torrevieja, it can also offer variety for those who want a break from sunbathing.
