South of Soroni village is the small graphic port of Fanes. Fishing boats go there to shelter from severe winds. It has a small isolated beach where you can enjoy your swim away from the crowds. In the tavernas around the beach you can taste fresh fish. Situated on the west coast approx. 30 kms from Rhodes, the beach consists of fine sand, a small fishing harbour, windsurfing as well as two tavernas.

Nestled on the idyllic western coast of Rhodes, this charming, traditional Greek village is an absolute delight for those wishing to have true taste and feel of Greek island life. Unlike it's opposite coast, the west coast tends to be more undeveloped and has escaped the large resorts of Tourism, meaning that it has maintained its true charm and tradition. Many wonderful ancient Greek ruins and other traditional Greek villages can be found scattered up and down this side of the coast. Fanes is a charming village featuring a few local amenities, however, within a short drive you will find a beautiful sandy beach featuring several waterfront tavernas, along with several other larger villages being found within five minute drive.
