Guimar is a very popular tourist resort.  There are many beaches in Tenerife however El Puertito in Guimar is particularly special. It is a small beach adjacent to the main fishing harbour. It is a calm beach with a few restaurants nearby and therefore El Puertito receives many visitors every year.  The beach is lovely and sandy and has a beautiful blue sea. There are many things that you can do can do on these gorgeous beaches other than just sunbathe. You can play games, do water sports, take strolls, and many more. If the beach is not for you then there are plenty of other things that you can do in Guimar. You can take a stroll around the Parque Etnografico Piramides de Guima. This park is a unique attraction, it has 6 stepped pyramids. They are very similar to the pyramids that were built in Mexico by Aztec and Maya but all other aspects remain unexplained; such as origin, age and purpose.
