Hinterthal is situated in the Salzburgerland region of Austria, an area which is famous as a health-cure destination thanks to its high altitude, pure air and warm thermal springs. Snow-covered Alps, flowering mountain meadows, sparkling crystal-clear lakes - this is Salzburgerland. With its scenic hiking paths, tumbling rivers and eleven beautiful lakes, this region is also one of Austria's most popular warm-weather resorts. Golfing, sailing, fishing - you'll find it all here and more. Nestling beneath the imposing Steinernes Meer Mountains, this quiet, authentic alpine village has a permanent population of 200 and is the ideal holiday destination for families and all those who enjoy recreational sport of any kind. After a day packed with activities, there are no less than 10 restaurants in the village. In the heart of one of Austria's largest and highest ski networks, Hintherthal is truly a winter sports dream. Skis can be hired in the village ski shop and here too you can book skiing lessons - adult lessons in the morning and children's lessons in the morning and afternoon. Skiers have two blue, one red and one black slope within walking distance and passes can be obtained in the village for these and other slopes further afield.
