Galu Beach is Diani Beach´s finest; without any of the hotels and tourists around, ideal wind and tide conditions, you have the whole beach to yourselves. The chilled vibe of the seven bedroom house has an extremely homely feel - each bedroom has a spectacular view of the beach and an ensuite bathroom. Both the inside and outside bars with entertainment areas are decorated with loads of comfortable cushions and big Swahili sofas. The house is brightly decorated with a Moroccan theme and coastal touch. Its special storage and cleaning facilities cater especially to surfers, windsurfers and kite surfers and comes with a setting up and packing away service. All meals are available at great value and are served outside, just footsteps from the sea amongst the tropical garden. All rooms have sea-view showers equipped with towels. All bedrooms are equipped with mosquito nets and are fan-cooled. Although this property specialises in Kite Surfing holidays, the accommodation is available for all and is located in a fantastic location on the beachfront.

Diani and Galu beaches are fringed by a reef approx. 1 km offshore, providing a lagoon with crystal clear blue water. The Kite Village is located directly on the beautiful white sand beach, which is up to 80 metres wide at low tide and 10 metres wide at high tide. Due to its shallowness the ocean rushes in and out quickly, making the lagoon a versatile surf spot. At low tide it serves as a perfect flat water spot and at high tide there are beautifully shaped 1-2 metre waves on the reef. Downwinders can be organized from the most northern tip of Diani to the most southern part of Galu, giving you a 20 km view of the beautiful coastline with its white beaches and blue waters. This is the most developed beach on Kenya's south coast with hotels, self-catering resorts, banks, curio shops, supermarkets and hustlers. Here you'll find white beaches, palm trees and coral reefs to explore by day and clubs to wade through by night. Those preferring the quiet life and whose aim it is to get away from sun-starved Europeans should reconsider a visit. Having said this, there is lovely bird watching at the Tiwi River, located near the Indian Ocean beach club, and in the south the beach experience does become more tranquil.
