Los
Cristianos offers a vibrant holiday experience with its two golden sandy beaches. Playa de la Vistas beach
is the largest of the Los
Cristianos beaches. The two main beaches in Los Cristianos are Playa de las
Vistas and Playa de Los Cristianos which
is a similar sized popular beach. The man made beaches that are lined with sun
beds and parasols, provide safe swimming havens and there are showers and
service facilities plus bars and cafes. There is also a rocky, black-sand beach in the
"Rincon" area of Los Cristianos, (between the headland near the Puerto
Viejo and the cliffs of Montaña Guaza.) This beach has not many
facilities but is popular
with Naturists.
The town is a great
place to relax and soak in the atmosphere. There are many atmospheric
cafes to sit and watch the fishing fleet working in the crystal clear
waters. The nightlife is also relaxed but a night out in the vibrant
bars of Playa de las Americas is very easy,
and within walking distance of all Los Cristianos property. The town
of Los Cristianos is quickly becoming one of the best places to shop
in Tenerife. Many of the Bars overlook the harbour and
wide sandy beaches and many offer live entertainment but in general the bars and restaurants are more suited to
visitors wanting a quieter night on the town.
The town of Los
Cristianos has its own beautiful harbour, offering many excursions,
from dolphin and whale watching to day trip to the island of La Gomera
as well as scuba diving, fishing, sailing, jet skiing and paragliding.
For golf holidays in Los
Cristianos, Golf Sur Resort is
a purpose built resort, and also has access to some excellent beaches.
Los Cristianos is close
to a number of excellent attractions including the Octopus Aquapark,
offering slides, diving, dolphin shows and climbing walls, two exotic
animal parks (Ecological Park and Cactus and Animal Park) and the
opportunity to ride a camel at the Camel Park, many golf courses,
tennis courts, carting tracks and hang gliding facilities as well as
hiking trail to Mount Teide.
Los
Cristianos stages one of Tenerife's smaller carnival celebrations every
February, but that's not to say you should overlook it. Los Cristianos, like many of the island's carnival towns, put a lot of energy into making it
a success and enjoyable. The main events include the masked ball, the
children's carnival queen celebrations and the cabalgata, a parade with
horses.
Tenerife's southern
airport Reina Sofia is only 15 minutes away and with a huge number of cheap flights from UK airports every day,
this makes a Los Cristianos holiday rental so popular, and relax in the beautiful
