Pattaya city is located on the eastern coast in Chonburi province. It is 147 kilometres from Bangkok and lies between Sukhumvit Road on its east and the coastline on its west. Pattaya occupies an area of 208.1 sq. km. Its coastline is 15 kilometres long. Pattaya currently integrates city dining, shopping and night entertainment facilities with more than 300 assorted hotels, thousands of shops, restaurants and bars. Jomtien Beach Only 3 km. from Pattaya Beach, Jomtien is recommended as a quieter resort. The 6-kilometer long, largely straight beach is popular with windsurfers and watersport enthusiasts. It is also quieter and more relaxing than Pattaya Beach. Hotels and other accommodation facilities are available along the road that runs parallel to the shore. Wong Amart Beach Situated on the northern side of Pattaya Bay, this 1-kilometer beach by the Central Wong Amart Hotel. It is a quiet spot, good for swimming and relaxation.

Nearby Pattaya Islands Around Pattaya are several small offshore islands which have beautiful beaches, clear water, and coral. You can reach the islands either by taking a tour which may include for example, diving, snorkelling, or individually hire a boat from the promenade or pier at South Pattaya. Costs vary according to your bargaining skills, destination and the type of boat. Ko Lan Lies about 7.5 kilometres off of Pattaya by a 45-minute ferry or 15 minutes by speed boat ride, the island measures 2 kilometres by 5 kilometres and offers several white sandy beaches, notably Hat Ta Waen, Hat Laem Thian and Hat Thong Long, the latter facing coral reefs. Visitors can choose either snorkelling or viewing the coral from glass bottom boats. Ferries to the island leave South Pattaya pier daily from 10.00 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. Cruises by sailing junks, with lunch provided are also available. Ko Krok Approximately 8 kilometres off Pattaya Beach is Ko Krok, an isle almost totally surrounded by rock formations. A gap of 100 meters to the east is a stretch of sandy beach where visitors can go and enjoy viewing underwater coral reefs. This island can be reached by chartered boat from South Pattaya. (As this is a private island, permission to enter must be obtained beforehand) Ko Phai, Ko Manwichai, Ko Luam, Ko Klungbadan Two hours or 23 kilometres from Pattaya are the Ko Phai Islands, the largest of which is Ko Phai. The other islands include Ko Manwichai, Ko Luam and Ko Klungbadan. The area is under the supervision of the Royal Thai Navy, however, visitors are allowed to stop by during the daytime for swimming, relaxation or diving. Overnight stays are not permitted. Ko Sak Located approximately six hundred meters further from Ko Lan, or about 10 kilometres from Pattaya is Ko Sak a small island shaped like an upturned horse-shoe. There are two connecting beaches to the north and south. Moreover, along the south shore are coral ranges. Ko Sak can be reached by chartered boat from South Pattaya.
