Portugal is a land of infinite options from mingling with the crowds in one of the more sophisticated beach resorts to wandering through the medieval quarters of historic cities like Lisbon, Porto, Braga or Coimbra. To explore the more remote beauty spots, stay overnight in a romantic pousada - a converted farm, monastery or manor house enjoying a wonderful setting. When it comes to sporting holidays Portugal is one of Europe's premier golfing destinations while the tennis schools are second-to-none. Big game fishing, horse riding, windsurfing and water-skiing are just some of the other activities on hand. Other experiences include Fado (Portugal's answer to soul music), country fairs where centuries-old folk traditions are lovingly re-enacted, port wine tasting and mouth-watering fish suppers.

Albufeira

Albufeira receives a considerable percentage of the 5 million tourists who visit the Algarve annually. The frenetic summer season now extends into the rest of the year, for visitors of all ages and from all over the world. Its extraordinary climate, with more than 3000 hours of sunshine per year and the friendly charm of its people persuade many foreigners to move residence to the region, either temporarily or permanently. We find more and more people select Albufeira as their favourite destination because of its multiple attractions on offer

Alentejo

If you want to locate the Alentejo on a map of Portugal, it's inland and down a bit from Lisbon, touching the Spanish border on the east and the Algarve is at its south end. The Alentejo region of Portugal extends from the unspoilt beaches of the West coast over plains, through vineyards and cork oak forests to the rugged hills on the Spanish border. Fascinating towns and villages with a rich cultural heritage are scattered throughout the province.

Azores

For those who love Nature, The Azores are heaven on earth. From the Lakes and lagoons with unbelievable shapes up to the astonishing sights over the ocean. The Azores are certain to provide an experience of a lifetime. The climate is temperate, which ensures an abundance of flowers strewn across hedgerows and fields throughout the summer season, and the deep greens of the lush grasslands contrast markedly with dark volcanic stone walls and neat whitewashed houses.

Lagos

Lagos is a major port and historically one of the region's most interesting cities. It has style, with its sleek boats, designer boutiques and paved promenades. Fabulous beaches and coves, an historic town with great shopping in its quiet cobbled back streets combine to make the town one of the most sought after resorts on the coast. Lagos is a beautiful town with lots to do and see. Lagos boasts 9 beautiful beaches and is without doubt one of the main attractions to our town.

Lisbon

Lisbon is a beautiful place, boasting springtime temperatures during the winter and cool summers freshened by a breeze blowing in from the Atlantic, Costa de Lisboa, on the south western coast, offers a rich and impressively integrated diversity. Lisbon is also the stage for popular festivities, the place for exquisite shopping, exciting nightlife, and interesting museums, a place from where motorways branch off in different directions. A fantastic place well worth a visit.

Madeira

Madeira island is 310 miles from the African coast and 620 miles from the European continent, which is the equivalent of a 1 hour 30 minute flight from Lisbon. Here in the Atlantic Ocean, not too far from the centre of Europe, we find the islands of Madeira and Porto Santo. The archipelago is famous for its friendly people, exceptional natural beauty and mild climate. Madeira Islands are just a short trip from Europe, to a destination where you can combine holidays on the beach, in the mountains or in the city.

Vilamoura

Vilamoura is the name given to an area rather than to any actual town. It is outstanding in that it is one of the largest single tourist complex in Europe and covers some 2.000 hectares of land. Due to the size of the resort area it offers the visitor nearly every form of sport and entertainment. On the southern border is a long sandy beach swept by the Atlantic Ocean. Vilamoura town now includes a huge new marina with berthing for over 600 craft. Vilamoura lies at the heart of the Golfing country.

Algarve

The Algarve is the southernmost region of mainland Portugal and covers an area of 5,000Km2. With 200 Km of Atlantic Ocean coastline, it has a climate similar to the Mediterranean. Northern Portugal

Northern Portugal and the Costa Verde is a mix of historical beauty and fantastic scenery. The country's longest motorway (A1, from Lisbon to Oporto) goes up to Braga (A3), in the heart of Costa Verde. If you follow the coastline on the road from Vila do Conde to Valença, you will not miss the beautiful beaches, seaside resorts and enchanting villages such as Caminha and Vila Nova de Cerveira. Inland and worthwhile visiting is the Peneda-Gerês National Park.

Golf in Portugal

Portugal has some of the best golf courses in Europe. Golf in the spectacular scenic Algarve has really only taken off in the last 30 years. Most of the courses are west of the provincial capital Faro, and almost all are close to the sea. You can find as wide a variety of settings as anywhere in the world, from the links of Palmares to the steep hillsides at Parque da Floresta. The most typical terrain is gently sloping hills, with rough made more hazardous by intimidating pine trees.
