 Puerto Santiago lies between Playa de la Arena and Los Gigantes. Puerto Santiago is a small fishing port, on the west side of Tenerife,  but you're limited in terms of beaches. It used to be a much quieter resort with a village atmosphere and lots of charm,  but there is still lots to do. The resort has now been developed and is much larger with a mixture of homes, hotels and apartments. As you would expect from a tourist resort, there is an assortment or bars, shops, restaurants, but little in the way of nightlife. Nightlife is low key and is mainly in Santiago bajo. You will find some excellent Canarian food available in the traditional restaurants and Tapas bars. Fresh fish is always on the menu.  The annual firework display is not to be missed in July. The roads throughout Puerto Santiago are very hilly and may not be suitable for the elderly, the less mobile or wheelchair users, but if you are after a quite and relaxing holiday then Puerto Santiago may be ideal.  There is a beach just south of the resort, or head inland to the Masca Valley where you can admire the views over to La Gomera or wonder at the majestic peak of Mount Teidi.  Masca village is extremely picturesque and well worth a visit.
