Visa Requirements

A full 10 year passport is required for entry into Seychelles, valid for at least 6 months beyond your return date. Visas are not required for entry. You will be required to show your passport, completed immigration card (which is distributed on the aircraft) and valid return ticket, on arrival in Seychelles.

Weather

Immunisations

Seychelles is currently free from any tropical diseases, and no vaccinations certificates are required for clients entering Seychelles, other than if you are entering Seychelles from or have passed through a Yellow Fever infected country. Malaria protection is not required.

Phoning

If you wish to make a call overseas, you must first dial 248, which is Seychelles international access code.

Electricity

220/240 volts AC at 50 cycles per second. Seychelles use the British standard three prong square plug (13 amp). Visitors from countries other than the United Kingdom are advised to bring their own adaptors.

Currency

The local currency is the Seychelles Rupee (Rs1). There are 100 cents in a Rupee. Rupee note denominations are: Rs100, Rs50, Rs25, Rs10. Rupee coin denominations are Rs5, Rs1 and 50 cents. Exchange rates can be obtained from your own bank, but currently the rate is Rs10 = £1.00 (UK pounds sterling).

Postal Service

Open Mon - Fri 08h00 - 16h30 & Sat 08h00 - 12h00. Postage stamps are widely available.

Tipping

Tipping is not expected in Seychelles. Most restaurants, hotels, taxis etc already include a 5 - 10% service charge or "tip".  

Travellers' Cheques

Most international travelers' cheques are accepted provided they are in an acceptable currency and may be cashed at banks. Credit Cards can be used in many places in the Seychelles
